by Kristen Forbes
Thinking about sticking around Gunnison for the summer? Lost on where to live? Why not live on campus?
Janice Lung, Director of Residence Life invites all students to stay on campus. “We encourage all students to stay on campus during the summer”, she said.

Students are able to live in the on campus apartments, Chipeta or Shavano Alpine which is non-traditional. Prices start at $2468 for a one bedroom unfurnished apartment in Chipeta and $1990 for a one bedroom apartment in Shavano.

There are discounts available, if a student is enrolled in summer classes and the fall semester 2009 they will receive a 25% discount and those not enrolled in summer 2009 classes but are enrolled in fall 2009 will receive a 10% discount.

To apply to live on campus a student must fill out an application form from the WSC website, http://www.western.edu/reslife/summer.html and a student housing contract. The process is simply and easy to follow, according to Lung, “It’s a pretty smooth, pretty cut and dry process”.

For more information refer to the WSC website or call Janice Lung at 970-943-2102 or email her with any questions at jlung@western.edu. Contract dates for the summer will be May 23rd till August 4th 2009.
